8.6 Blackout Bolt Action Barrel Premium Stainless

What is 8.6 Blackout

8.6 BLK was developed by Kevin Brittingham and his team at Q. It is often referred to as 300 BLKs big brother and its easy to see why. What 300BLK provided to the AR-15 platform, 8.6 Blackout does for AR-10’s. The parent case being 6.5 Creedmoor, 8.6BLK is trimmed down and necked up for a .338 projectile. Heavier mass means more energy transfer on target. Barrels are being run with a fast 1:3 twist, creating devastating terminal performance. Although 8.6BLK is larger than its 300BLK brother.

The Importance of the 1:3 Twist Rate

For these 8.6 Blackout ammunition, the barrels are produced by Mos-tek Firearms.
By no means are these barrels your typical rifle barrel.
It can be difficult to design and produce them, but Mos-tek Firearms has boldly taken on the challenge.
The 8.6 Blackout barrels have a 1:3 twist rate to appropriately stabilize the long and hefty 300-grain subsonic bullets!

Accordingly, the round rotates completely every three inches of barrel length.
These new barrels’ bores resemble internal bolt or screw threads more than rifling.
This ground-breaking 1:3 twist significantly increases the huge 8.6 blackout round’s energy on target.

Traditionally, energy on target has primarily been an issue.

These 8.6 barrels loadings were created using a Q Fix rifle equipped with a Q Pork Chop Silencer and a 12′′ Faxon 1:3 twist barrel.
